SmartStor Jukeman
SmartStor Jukeman is a complete
read/write archival storage solution for multiple UNIX platforms, including
Solaris, HP-UX, IBM-AIX, and Linux. SmartStor Jukeman is completely media
independent, which means that users are free to configure any combination
of MO, WORM, CD, or DVD libraries on a single server and view the entire
configuration as one large network storage repository. SmartStor Jukeman
is easy to install and use, providing a common interface to document imaging;
COLD; prepress; legal; e-mail archive; audio; video-on-demand; banking;
health care; web-based storage; and other data-intensive, e-business,
and Internet applications.
Features:
Complete media independence, supporting any combination of MO,
WORM, CD, CD-R, and DVD hardware on a single server.
No requirement for 3rd party SQL database, client, or special networking
software.
Industry standard file format for not only CD/DVD media but also
MO and WORM media.
Multithreaded architecture unparalleled speed and throughput
even under high-volume usage.
On-the-fly administration of media with no downtime.
On-line management statistics.
Built-in disaster recovery through journalling.
Simple-to-use API toolkits.
Remote administration.
Media Independence
Increasingly, applications and network environments
are faced with greater data volume and higher availability storage needs.
SmartStor Jukemans media independence means that users are free
to configure any combination of MO, WORM, CD, or DVD devices on a single
server and view the entire configuration as one large network storage
repository. Users need not be concerned with the technology differences
of each of the devices. Jukeman manages the entire storage subsystem and
provides transparent access to terabytes of on-line data.
Data Verification
SmartStor Jukemans Triple Check
feature ensures that data is written to the media, byte for byte. This
automated comparison capability is activated to verify that the data written
to the media is identical to the source. The first verification is performed
at the drive level, the second by the file system during the write process,
then Triple Check verifies that the data has been successfully
written. Jukeman considers data to have been successfully written after
this careful verification and only then proceeds to synchronize the file
system views and system cache.
Fault Tolerance
SmartStor Jukeman provides customers with
Fault Tolerant data storage solutions. Jukemans journaled file system
tracks the status of all system functions and transactions and automatically
updates as data is written or retrieved by network users. In the event
of a system failure, Jukeman is able to restart and recover the directory
structure, cache content, and status of the library and drives, and return
the system to its proper state prior to the failure.
Data Replicator
Organizations often have the need to clone
data stored inside a library for distribution and disaster recovery. Jukemans
Data Replicator feature automates the process of duplicating
MO, WORM, DVD and CD media for distribution. Users can simply select the
data source to clone parts of the data stored in the library.
